ATV - UTV Guided Tours

Taking an ATV-UTV tour is a great way to see scenery and have fun too. Riding with a guide who knows where to go can make the experience even better.

We cater to whatever style of riding you want—from winding small back roads through scenic villages, Markets and countryside to relaxing nature rides along local rivers, castles to some of the greatest sites in the area!  

ATVs: Each person must complete the ATV online safety course which takes about 2.5 hours, and have a valid USAREUR license. Outdoor Recreation will assist you with the online course requirements.

Tour description: ATV TOUR: 100 km Local area (Baumholder, Kusel Castle, Freisen Wind Park, Bostal See)UTV TOUR: up to 200 km from Baumholder to Nahe Valley, Mosel, Rhein Valley.

Saturday: 

  • Departure: 10 a.m. from Baumholder Outdoor Recreation, Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8167
  • Explore a 100km local area, to include Baumholder, Kusel Castle, Freisen Wind Park and Bostal See
  • Return: 4 p.m.

Sunday:

  • Departure: 10 Saturdays and Sundays a.m. from Baumholder Outdoor Recreation, Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8167
  • Explore a 155km area from Baumholder to the Mosel Valley - Bernkastel Kues
  • Return: 6 p.m.

Please bring:

  • Military ID Card
  • Euros for lunch
  • Valid USAREUR license
  • Printed Online Test Certification for ATV Safety Course
  • Comfortable, weather appropriate shoes and clothing

(Select Adult course, set up user account, select US forces Europe take Test and print out certificate)

 

Cost
  • $55 per person (Saturday tour and only one person per ATV)
  • $95 per person (tour per UTV)

8 person max (ATV
6 Person (Adults) UTV. Each UTV seats up to 3 person (2 Adult 1 Child)

Cost includes:

  • Use of ATV for the duration of the ride with a full tank of gas and fuel refills at designated stops
  • A helmet
  • PT Belt
  • Road/area maps

*Only one person per ATV. Tour times may vary due to traffic, weather, and other circumstances.

You must register no later 2 days prior to the tour. Each tour is limited to 8 persons. To be able to participate in the tour you must complete an online ATV safety course.
