Baltic Sea Captials

Sail the Baltic Sea to the maritime metropolises of Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn!

#

Travelling the Baltic Sea by ship is an amazing way to experience the “White Nights”, the longest days of the year.  Even though the sun will be reluctant to set as you sail overnight from country to country, you will want to get some sleep on board for when you get off the boat and explore each of these Capital cities. Guided tours of Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki will familiarize you with each seaside city before providing you with free time for additional explorations or shopping. Sample a traditional Smörgåsbord in Stockholm, taste smoked elk and reindeer in Helsinki, and brave black pudding and beetroot salad in Tallinn. Two overnights in each city will give you the chance to see, try, and do it all!

The White Nights only happen in June and spaces are extremely limited. This trip is expected to sell out fast. Reserve your Baltic Sea White Nights Experience with Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation today.

Estimated Itinerary

15 June: Kaiserslautern to Stockholm

After your morning flight to Stockholm, a tour of the city center will familiarize you with the old city and palace district, both of which are within walking distance of your hotel. This afternoon you can take the opportunity to visit the Abba Museum or any of the other attractions on Djurgarden Island and to enjoy first of your long nights in Scandinavia. (Overnight Stockholm)

16 June: Free day in Stockholm

Today you are free to explore the Swedish capital city however you wish. Downtown Stockholm’s shops and museums are just a short walk away, and you will probably want to return to Djurgarden. If you wish to experience the Swedish Archipelago, a day trip by boat to Vaxholm will allow you to visit a more traditional Swedish town with distinctive old Scandinavian architecture and a defensive fortress on a beautiful island setting. (Overnight Stockholm)

17 June: Stockholm to Tallinn

After a final morning in Stockholm, you will board the MS Baltic Queen for an overnight sailing to Tallinn. To get from Stockholm to Tallinn, the Baltic Queen will have to navigate the Swedish Archipelago, a collection of over 20,000 islands. The upper deck of your floating hotel allows you to enjoy the scenery and a late sun set at sea while the lower decks have all the amenities you need to keep you entertained during your overnight crossing of the Baltic Sea.

18 June: Tallinn

This mornings tour of Tallinn will familiarize you with the medieval city center which was once the northernmost member of the Hanseatic League.  Controlled and influenced by many larger nations throughout its long history before regaining its independence in 1991, the smallest capital of the Baltic Nations has undergone significant redevelopment since the Soviet era and is now a thriving modern city which managed to keep its historic medieval center intact. (Overnight Tallinn)

19 June: Free day in Tallinn

Another day in Tallinn will allow you to visit more of the city’s many points of interest.  The beautiful views of the old town from Tallinn’s many towers and spires never fail to impress and the city’s Russian past offers a different dining experience with many options not commonly found in the west.  (Overnight Tallinn)

20 June: Tallinn to Helsinki

This morning you will board a hyperferry which makes the transit from Tallinn to Helsinki in just two hours.  The morning sailing of the ship allows you to have brunch (or second breakfast) on-board.  A tour of Helsinki will familiarize you with Helsinki’s neighborhoods and your four-star hotel in the city center makes it easy to get to any of them.   (Overnight Helsinki)

21 June: Free day in Helsinki

Helsinki is home to many beautiful and unique buildings and monuments and also has a very close relationship with the sea. You are sure to enjoy your free day exploring “The White City of the North”.(Overnight Helsinki)

22 June: Helsinki to Stockholm

Your second night at-sea begins when the Silja Symphony sets sail this afternoon. Once, this luxurious cruise ship was the largest cruise ship permanently stationed on the Baltic Sea, and it proudly features an indoor promenademultiple barsrestaurants and tax free shopping. Symphony’s many facilities and entertainment program will fill your evening hours until the sun briefly dips below the horizon around midnight only to rise again a few hours later.
