Think of this hike as a tribute to a city in which dramas of early-modern and modern urban development played out like a nutshell, and which , despite everything , never lost it's belief in community!

This 11.6 km Urban hike will take you through Hanau to Muhlheim, with its nearly 100,000 residents, is a surprisingly “complicated” city. The main train station lies far from the city center, railway lines crisscross everywhere, and large industrial complexes and former military barracks (from the Imperial era, the Nazi period, and the U.S. occupation) carve the city into pieces. The historic center was wiped out in the war and yet it exists twice (Old Town and New Town). Two rivers (the Main and the Kinzig) flow through the city. A church made of two churches, half of it a ruin, stands in the center. And two magnificent palace complexes (Philippsburg and Wilhelmsbad) form the counterpoint. A city of this size offering so many major themes is unusual. Our route touches several of them.

Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations requested 48 hours prior to trip departure will receive a 90% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to departure will receive a 50% refund.
- There is no refund for no-shows or cancellations made less than 12 hours prior to departure.
- In the event that a customer cancellation results in a fee charged to Outdoor Recreation, regardless of the date of or reason for that cancellation, the total sum of those fees will be passed along to the customer.
